Mike and Leslie Malin have spent their lives rooted in southwest Michigan. Long before Boats Galore existed, they were known throughout Dowagiac and the surrounding area for running a successful landscaping operation — the kind of family business built on showing up, doing the job right, and treating people the way you'd want to be treated yourself.
Boats Galore grew naturally out of that same mindset. The Sister Lakes area has always been boat country — tens of thousands of people across Cass County, Van Buren County, and northern Indiana keep watercraft on or near these lakes every summer. When the season ends, those boats, jet skis, pontoons, and RVs need somewhere safe to go. Mike and Leslie saw a need in their own backyard and built something to meet it.
This is still a family operation. When you call, you're talking to the owners. When you drop off your boat, they're the ones receiving it. That's not something you'll find at a commercial storage chain — and it's something they take seriously.
The Sister Lakes Area

Southwest Michigan's lakes have been drawing boaters and water lovers for over a century. We're proud to be part of that tradition.
The Sister Lakes region sits in the heart of southwest Michigan — home to more than ten lakes within a six-mile radius, including Magician Lake, Round Lake, Dewey Lake, and Crooked Lake. It's one of the most active boating communities in Cass County, drawing visitors and seasonal residents from across Michigan, northern Indiana, and the greater Chicago area.
Boating season runs hard from late spring through Labor Day — pontoons, fishing boats, jet skis, and speedboats fill the water all summer long. When the season winds down and the Michigan winter sets in, those vehicles need a home. That's where we come in.
We serve boat and vehicle owners across Dowagiac, Sister Lakes, Cassopolis, Niles, Edwardsburg, and the surrounding areas. If you're within a reasonable distance and need storage you can trust, we want to hear from you.
